I have a BSc in Biology with a specialization in Environmental and Marine Biology. I completed a MSc in GIS at the University of Ulster at Coleraine (UK). I am currently working in the Galapagos National Park in a diving ecotourism project studying diver's satisfaction and SCUBA diving impacts on Galapagos Marine Reserve. Before that I worked in the FUME project (Forest fires under climate, social and economic changes in Europe, the Mediterranean and other fire-affected areas of the world). Grant agreement 243888 EU7th Framework Programme funded project. PI: Dr. Jose Manuel Moreno Rodriguez, Vicepresident of IPCC Working Group II.
I also work as an e-Tutor since 2011 in the PgC/PgD/MSc in GIS (distance e-Learning) at the School of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, University of Ulster, Campus of Coleraine, Northern Ireland. I am helping Dr. Sally Cook in the Modules EGM711-Principles of GIS; EGM712-Spatial Data Management; EGM716-Spatial Analysis and EGM721-GIS for Environmental Management.
I collaborate with a non-profit organizing courses and volunteering expeditions related to botanical/vegetation studies, particularly orchid. I have also worked in the Botany and Ecology Departments at the University of Alicante (Spain), researching and collaborating in various projects.
My research interests in science are using GIS to resolve biological/ecological problems, especially in conservation biology and management. I am particularly interested in vegetation science, botany, ecology, biogeography, etc. I am also passionate about Marine Biology and Oceanography. I use Arc GIS 9.3 in my daily work.
